It is hard having kids…..period. School lunches are the bane of my existence some mornings. I made a quick menu plan to help myself (and the kids) stay on track and thereby not wasting time on figuring out what to pack in their awesome lunch bags (ROOTS @ Costco)!!
Muffins – Homemade, healthy store varieties
Fruit Salad – I tell my boys to pick three fruits and I chop them up and store them in the fridge for a few days. Favourites: Blueberries, Strawberries, Honeydew, Watermelon, Clementines, Grapes, Cantaloupe, Raspberries, Pineapple.
Veggies and Hummus
Granola Bars – Homemade, healthy store varieties
Cheese Strings/Babybel Cheese/Cheese Cubes(6 small cubes)
Backpack Snack – My specialty…..kids love it. We go to Bulk Barn and pick out 5 items to go in our backpack snack. Ideas: Pretzels, Raisins, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Dried Fruit, Mini Chocolate Chips, Yogurt Raisins, Corn Nuts, Dried Veggies, etc. The boys get about a 1/4 cup in a container, its better because they picked the choice and mixed it up.
Wowbutter on apples
Ants on a log – celery sticks, cream cheese with raisins on it.
Cheese and Crackers
Smorgesboard (Leftover selection in silicone cupcake liners)
Quesadilla’s – cheese/chicken/beans served with salsa/sour cream/guacamole
Sandwiches – Ham & Cheese, Veggie, Wow Butter and Honey/Jam, Egg Salad, Tuna
Wraps – Chicken salad, Turkey and Lettuce, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Grilled Veggie
Bagels with Cream Cheese
Crackers Finger Food Mix – Meat, Cheese, Veggies, Fruit
Soup in a thermos
More fun planners……print off, go through with your kids and put on the fridge. 🙂
